The second artist that I visited during the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal was Laila Biali. Hailing from Ontario, she has been called one of Canada's rising Jazz stars and has already won awards for Composer and Keyboardist of the year from SOCAN and the National Jazz Awards. Mostly known as a session musician for others, she has been getting a solo career off of the ground, and what better place to do so than at one of the biggest Jazz festivals in the World. Especially since they were playing on the largest of the outdoor stages. The promenade was full, so I'm sure that she made several new fans. The firs photograph was taken at f/4, 1/400sec, ISO 1600 at 53mm. Here are a few more that I took of her performance.
f/4, 1/400sec, ISO 1600 at 70mm

This was the first show where I could use my pass at it's full power, zooming past the crowd and finding myself right in front of the stage. I must say that it felt pretty good. With great power comes great responsibility. To find out more about Laila Biali feel free to visit her website the the following link.
